Orsini became involved with bodybuilding & strength training in 1991, and the following year began studying boxing & martial arts. During 1993, she competed as a heavyweight in the North Miami Beach Bodybuilding Championships and the South Florida Bodybuilding Championships winning 2nd place in both competitions.
Also during this time Angel was training in Tae Kwon Do to become a black belt and an instructor. In 1995, she began training mixed martial arts under Bart Vale in Miami. By 1996, she was in Japan fighting against Yokimiko Hotta. Just months after that fight she won the Florida State Tae Kwon Do Finals for black belt women as a welterweight and qualified to try out for the Olympic team.
Instead of trying to compete for Olympic glory she decided to heed Reggie Bennett's advice and give pro-wrestling a chance. She met Liz Chase, a Moolah Girl who had a long career in Japan and also lived in South Florida. Reggie was right!! Once Angel started training in pro-wrestling she fell in-love with it. Fortunately to finish her last few weeks of training with Liz, a new girl came to town to train because she had only been wrestling men and needed some experience wrestling girls. Joanie Lee Lauer who later became known to the world as Chyna was Angel's new training buddy and her opponent in her debut match in Ormond Beach, FL at the Ironhorse Saloon for the PGWA.
Already friends with Luna Vachon who was a great mentor to Angel in the beginning of her career and they wrestled often. There were many other well-known wrestlers who would train with and advise Miss Orsini along the way. People like Rusty Brooks, the Warlord, Norman Smiley, and Leilani Kai. So when she met hopeful new wrestler named Nora Greenwald (who later became Mona on WCW and Molly Holly in WWE) she was enthusiastic to help the girl get started in the ring and began training her....and giving her advice.
Angel wrestled under the name "Riptide" until she was hired by ECW and given the name "The Prodigette". In ECW she learned how to be a manager/valet associated with Simon Diamond and the Sideshow Freaks. Even as the Prodigette, Angel would always look for opportunities to mentor new girls like Amber Oneal and Mercedes Martinez.
In 2001, when all the ECW talent was getting picked up by WWE, Angel was sidelined from a serious car accident. It took her over a year to recover enough to get back in the ring but nothing could stop her or keep out of the ring it was still her #1 love.
In 2004, she moved to Europe to wrestle in the UK, France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands for one year. In 2005 upon her return to the States, during a match with Sumie Sakai she broke both her heels in a TLC match because the referee did not hold the ladder when she jumped off. After taking a few minutes to recover from the bad fall & take an account of her injuries under the ring, she crawled back into the ring, hubbled around on the less broken foot and finished her match in the ring. She refused to be put on a stretcher or taken to the hospital by ambulance. It took her less than a year to return to the ring and in top physical condition. It was not too long after that she was champion again. Go to Championship history tab to see the titles she's held.
